The Clix Gentleman Explains 002: Legacy Cards

Posted June 4th, 2021 by Joe Pangrazio

So. We are now on our third wave of Legacy Cards and we have the Comprehensive Rule Book, but we don't have a source of actual Legacy Card rules and how they work. And none of the cards after the first wave have it on the card themselves. So, I thought I'd put this little primer out to direct players to in the future.

LEGACY CARDS
A Legacy card corresponds with a Heroclix figure from a past Heroclix set. Those figures can be played in Modern legal events provided they use the Legacy Card instead of their original card (if any). When playing with the Legacy card, use the point values, keywords, and/or combat symbols on the card instead of those on the dial or original card (if they are different).

HOW TO TELL WHAT FIGURES GO WITH A LEGACY CARD
Look at the “Significant Appearance” on the back of the card. That will give you the set release (ie, Arkham Asylum). Then, match the set number in the upper right hand corner on the front of the Legacy Card. Some Legacy Cards have L before the number and others have the old set abbreviation. Just focus on the actual numbers.

If any other additions are made to Legacy Cards in the future, I will come back and edit this for clarity (and maybe republish it). I hope this helps clear things up for anyone that has been out of the loop for the last few months.
