Who the Clix? Mantis

Mantis is the Vietnamese born daughter of the supervillain known as Libra. After she was born, her father left her to learn martial arts under the tutelage of Kree priests. These priests believe she is destined to become the Celestial Madonna, mother to the Celestial Messiah who they claim will be the “most important person in the universe.”

After finishing her training, her memory is wiped and she is sent into the world in order to gain life experience. While working, she meets the Swordsman and becomes his traveling companion. The two join the Avengers together.

After fulfilling her fate as Celestial Madonna, Mantis traveled with the Silver Surfer for a time before returning to Earth and joining the West Coast Avengers. After defeating Kang the Conqueror, with the help of the Silver Surfer, Mantis leaves Earth to help raise her son.

Through unknown means, Mantis becomes a Kree prisoner and is only rescued by joining Star-Lord. She becomes a member of the Annihilation era Guardians of the Galaxy.
