The Upper Clix: Unclixed Spider-Verse Characters

Welcome to The Upper Clix, where we
will take a look at the crème de la crème of Heroclix. Based on
utterly arbitrary and occasionally opaque reasons. This week, we're
looking at the Top 5 Unclixed Characters from Spider-Verse (in no
particular order).
MSV 201 Spider-Rex
Why are the animal
versions of Spider-Man always so weird? Meet Pter Ptarker, friendly
neighborhood pteradon (not t-rex) who one day is bit by the T-Rex
Norrannosaurman just as they are both hit by a meteorite filled with
alien spiders. When Pter wakes up, he's now in Norrannosaurman's
T-Rex body and has the amazing proportional strength and abilities of
an alien spider.
…
Comics are weird.
And he
has a cool fin mohawk, so he's also like a quarter punk.
MSV 048 Lady Stilt-Man
Lady Stilt-Man is just a hilarious
name. That would almost be enough for me to include her on a list of
unclixed characters needed in the game. I do love my frivolity. But
I'm also a sucker for the Leg Extension mechanic and she uses it in a
very cool way. So I'm happy to see her take her place as a Stilt-Man.
MSV 009 Man Mountain Marko
This is one of those characters that didn't need to be made for any kind of game mechanic reason. He's just wanted by a certain kind of Heroclix player because he showed up a lot at a certain point in comics history. And for that reason, I'm happy we finally got old Man Mountain Marko.
A funktastic disco decked out
supervillain that mind controls people with his back up singers.
If
you're not happy to see him clixed, you have no soul. Nor are you
super bad.
MSV 037 Stunner
I first saw Stunner when I was reading
Spidey comics during the Clone saga in the mid-90s. And as a young
sensitive man, I was heart broken by the heavy girl that never felt
loved being manipulated by Doctor Octopus into becoming an American
Gladiator type Amazon via “virtual reality” technology. She's a
character that I have always had a soft spot for but I absolutely did
not think would ever appear in Heroclix. Nor did I think anyone else
even remembered her.
I'm happy to be proven wrong.
And
that's it for this installment of The Upper Clix. If you have a
category or idea for a future article, feel free to reach out.
Until next time, remember, only the very best will do.
