Margo Kess comes from Earth 22191 where people spend most of their lives online, interacting through virtual reality avatars. Determined to do good, Margo hacks the system and creates her own spider-powered avatar to fight digital crime. Adopting the name Spider-Byte, Margo's armor boosts her strength and speed, has magnetic grips in her boots and gloves to climb walls and photonic web-shooters that generate hard-light webs.
When Ghost-Spider recruits Spider-Byte to fight the Inheritors, Margo is able to bring her virtual armor into the real world and becomes a valuable ally.
